Apple Launching iTunes 10.6 and iOS 5.1 Today, with Japanese Support for Siri Coming Soon

by

ios5logoAs part of Tim Cook's early statements at today's media event, he announced that iOS 5.1 will be available today. One important addition in the updated operating system is Japanese support for Siri on the iPhone 4S. That support will be rolling out over the next few weeks. iOS 5.1 includes the much-requested ability to delete photos from the Photo Stream, inside the redesigned Camera app.

Apple says iOS 5.1 and iTunes 10.6 will be available today as free software updates. The new version of iTunes is not yet available for download on Apple's website, and we are waiting for iOS 5.1 to go live.

Please fix the battery issues for the 4S users. Oh, and better performance in the music app when using iTunes Match.

This better get fixed. It's become embarrassing to use my iPad 1 because of this issue. Partly because of the issue itself, but mostly because of my visible displays of frustration! :o

iTunes on Apple's website now.

Release notes, hope Match really is improved, finally.

Looks like mac system requirements haven't changed, still supports 10.5.8 and G4.
Improved artwork handling! I really hope that is true. I haven't had one album that has updated AFTER iCloud uploaded it and then added I artwork.
