Apple Music Launches New 'Behind the Songs' Hub Focusing on Songwriters and Producers

by

Apple today is rolling out a new hub focused on songwriters, producers, and session musicians. Similar to previous content hubs, "Behind the Songs" is a curated collection of playlists, videos, interviews, and radio shows (via Engadget).

You can find the hub by searching "songwriter" or "songwriters" in Apple Music, although it does still appear to be rolling out and isn't yet available to all users.

In the hub, ‌Apple Music‌ is highlighting its existing playlists like "Song Book" and "Behind the Boards," which are made to showcase specific songwriters and producers in popular music. A series of videos called "Lyrics to Live By" has artists like Dua Lipa and Halsey discussing some of their own songwriting.

Apple's new hub follows a few months after Spotify debuted its own songwriter-focused section, which elevates the people who write and produce the music in every playlist.

More stuff thrown into the already cluttered and confusing 'Browse' tab.

Very cool idea.

Agree with others. Fix the slowness. The interface is confusing. Missing basic stuff like gapless.

I really like Apple music. But I can’t quit Spotify. Not sure why, outside it’s just faster and more reliable.

Apple seems to be very active with Apple Music. I guess the app will get a bit of a new design with iOS15.
Meanwhile Spotify is only crying in a corner. When will they show some lyrics? Maaan, that should just be a basic feature..

And after all their whining, when will they finally have HomePod support? They even cried about it on a specially made webpage. Now Apple has opened up a lot of other streaming services implemented HomePod support. But now Spotify is keeping quiet. Their company-culture must be crap

What?

NO ... some people actually LOVE music ... and feel that just the song itself is not enough.
I guess you're a music hoarder, in the sense of Prince's manifesto years ago as the dawn of MP3's began and heavily rejected by Metallica and LARS Ulrich especially.

Music lovers, real fans want to know more about artists and their creative process, influences and such. Like what LP's and Cassettes used to offer music purchasers prior to MP3's and digital music.

Each to their own but try not to disregard change just cause it's change.
I love music but will never use this feature.
I want to listen to the music. Not read about what the band was thinking he when they wrote it. But to each their own

Agreed, I'm subbed to Apple Music but listen to music on YouTube 90% of the time. I also can't figure out how to change my music preferences since the initial circles setup thing? Anyone? The search seems to bring up tons of irrelevant junk, some of it doesn't even play, but it's in my search results? Huh? Why is it always trying to get me to listen to hip hop or r&b, I never said I liked hip hop and I never listened to it? I like jazz but it never keeps me up to date on jazz...I guess the point is this needs cleaned up not have more stuff stapled on.
