Apple's AirPods Max headphones have dropped to $449.99 in all colors on Amazon, down from $549.00. All models are in stock and ready to ship out today, except for Space Gray which has a shipping delay of about a week.

We've seen a few colors of the AirPods Max drop to $449 in 2022, but this is one of the first times where all color options have been discounted by $99. In comparison to previous discounts, this is the second-best Amazon price we've ever tracked on the AirPods Max.

This product is waiting for its "iPad 2 (2011) moment" where it gets a functional case, proper on and off button, and a $399 starting price to better compete with others in the market.

I'd be interested to know how these are selling. I have a pair and, despite being a huge Apple enthusiast, I could only justify it when I used my credit card's banked reward points. And despite having them, I don't use them that much. I have a feeling they'll probably get discontinued soon.

These are brilliant and a significant step up in sound quality from the AirPods Pro. Yes, a bit expensive, but worth every penny, even at full retail price. I’ve had them for over a year now and they’re still the best pair of headphones I’ve ever had. Remarkably durable as well. They still look brand new and I use them almost every day.

If anyone has these and HomePods, can you compare the sound characteristics? I've found I like the audio out of my paired HomePods significantly more than my Sonos speakers.
We love the paired OG HomePods we own, they are just amazing. The AirPod Max is by far my preferred set of headphones for listening pleasure, however they are not equal to the experience of the OG HomePod. The AirPo Max is far superior with noise cancellation and spatial sound effects are nicer, but the OG paired HomePods have a better kick and a larger soundstage (at least in our space) and we use them to dance to once each week. I love them both, paid full price for them all, and have no regrets.
