Deals: Record Low Prices Hit Apple Watch SE on Amazon, Available From $219

Amazon today has the 40mm GPS Apple Watch SE for the all-time low price of $219.00, down from $249.00. Along with this model, Amazon has low prices on nearly every other configuration of the 2022 Apple Watch SE, including cellular models.

For the 40mm GPS model, you can get all three colors at this price: Starlight Aluminum, Silver Aluminum, and Midnight Aluminum. Additionally, each color has both S/M and M/L sizes in stock and on sale, with delivery dates as soon as April 10 for some models.

The 44mm GPS model is on sale for $249.00, down from $279.00. Like the smaller model, this one is available in all three colors and various band sizes with a delivery date around April 6-10 for the fastest options. It's an overall second-best price.

Moving to cellular models, the 40mm cellular Apple Watch SE has hit $269.00 on Amazon, down from $299.00. Discounts on both cellular models have been more rare than the GPS versions of the Apple Watch SE, so this is a great opportunity to purchase the wearable at its lowest price.

Lastly, the 44mm cellular Apple Watch SE is available for $299.00 in all three colors, down from $329.00. As with most of the other devices, this is a record low price and one of the few times we've tracked the deal in 2023.

This pains me. I have been an Apple user (fan) since 1983, and I am about to ask questions that expose a huge gap in knowledge and understanding that is embarrassing to me. If you can, please refrain from pointing out my idiocy. If you do pile on, however, I kind of understand.

I currently have an Apple Watch (Series 3 GPS) which I have only had for the last two years. I am a late adopter of the Apple Watch because my cellular service does not support Apple Watch. My hope for the watch was to be able to run without a phone. I have had moderate success. The real trouble is that I use Audible, and my current phone lacks storage and speed to easily load full books as I cruise through them. So, I only use the Apple Watch as a watch now, and I still run with the phone.

The other problem is that the watch is so old that updating the OS is slow, laborious, and frequent. For a while I didn't update it. It is current now, but I still lament the fact that I have not really been able to use it for running and listening to audiobooks. Wow. Even I am tired of my post. Anyway, I have a few quick questions to be considered in the context of my lame context and use case.

1. Is the current Apple Watch SE (44mm) capable of storing a couple of big novels and a few playlists to be used apart from the phone during a run?

2. Is it better to get an Apple Watch 8 (44mm) to accomplish the same?

3. Am I the only one that is now mad that watch faces are exclusive to particular models? (I love the faces for Ultra, and just learned today that the face is exclusive... which is infuriating because the Ultra isn't available in GPS mode only... Additionally, yes, you are right. I could just get a cellular account for the phone... or I could just not complain. However, I don't want to do the former. As for the latter, check my history. I am not a big complainer. So, this query/rant represents a relatively small part of my overall participation on this site. You are free to call me out, but I am just trying to find the best watch for my narrow use case.)

Ok. Thanks to whomever is still here. I appreciate the time and insight.
Still here!
Based on a Google search, you'd get 4x the storage on an SE or 8, as compared with the Series 3. The amount of storage varies by watch version. The Apple Watch Ultra, Series 8, 7, 6, 5, and SE offer 32GB of space, but you only get 16GB on the Series 4 and Series 3 GPS + Cellular model, and just 8GB for the Series 3 GPS model.

Based on your needs, a 44mm SE is probably enough.

As far as watch faces...well, I think it's an issue with many people who want even more customization including a store. Short of buying an Ultra, you're out of luck.
