I want that 3-in-1 magnet charging cube so bad!
My most used Anker device. Clever, compact, design.

My request of Anker: Please make more powered chargers I can travel with.

One design feature that makes me reject any charger: A flat plug that causes the cable to be positioned at an angle as it leaves the outlet. I travel a lot for work and fun. (pre-pandemic American Airlines EP) . The plug design that gives the highest probability of working anywhere: a plug that positions the cord to leave directly away from the wall. Not angled down / up.

Example Scenario:

* The only hotel bedside power could be at bedside lamp’s base. (Venetian Hotel in Las Vegas maybe it was?)
* Plugging in a flat plug with an angled cable causes the entire bedside lamp to be lifted and tilted slightly, causing instability.
* When getting up in the middle of the night, light gets bumped, falls over, breaks the bulb, etc etc
* More frequent problem: something will be blocking the cord going in that direction, so the plug can’t be plugged in at all

Net: My favorite all time Anker travel charger:

https://www.anker.com/products/a2046

for a feature you can NOT see on the page, combined with those you can. (2 USB-C, 2 USB-A, the flattest possible design)

What is the feature you can not see? Simply a plug that plugs straight into the wall. The cable only occupies the airspace directly behind that plug, the most frequently available airspace when you travel.

A second feature you can’t see that makes that a great travel charger: The ABSENSE of a button to turn off the power to the ports. That button creates the travel nightmare situation of having a dead phone. I ’upgraded’ to a different Anker device with that button. Very next trip: A 2 second power glitch in the hotel caused the device to power-on with that default power to the ports OFF. Next morning before my presentation, my phone was dead. Accidentally bumping that button created same problem.

❤️ Thank you to the Anker product manager who controls that devices design.

I have their 65w 3-in-1 charger and while I love the convenience it's sometimes rather flaky; plugging in a device sometimes won't tell the adapter to start charging it. I've come back to many an iPhone or Apple Watch that I've plugged in and thought was charging only to have the device dead or even more depleted. I have to unplug the cable from the power brick, plug it back in, then plug the device back in and it suddenly recognizes it again. I've learned to confirm charging has started before leaving the device to do its thing.

It is the same company, but what’s that gotta do with chargers and batteries?
Why support a company in any regard after that horrible fiasco? Every product has security issues but the way they doubled down after being called out, nobody should ever support them. Cameras or chargers.

Isn’t this the same company that lied about their security cameras and doubled down when called out about security issues? Massive security issues too like your cameras being exposed to the open internet.
