Cutting-edge technology and creativity have breathed new life into this standout entry in the Resident Evil series. Resident Evil 4 can be played on iPhone 15 Pro models thanks to the A17 Pro chip, which features hardware-accelerated ray tracing and improved GPU capabilities that make console-quality gaming possible. The game is also compatible with iPads that are equipped with an M1 or later, and all Apple silicon Macs.

Resident Evil 4 can be downloaded for free from the App Store, and though the full IAP unlock is usually priced at $59.99, the main game can be bought for half that price until the discount ends on January 17. The Separate Ways mini game is available for $9.99, while an additional DLC pack is priced at $14.99, and several weapon packs are available at prices ranging from $2.29 to $7.49.

Took an age to download all 64GB of the Mac version. Run it on my M3 Max base 16" side by side with the iPad Pro 12.9" (M1), the Mac version lets you set all the custom graphics settings while the iOS does not, iOS seems to lock at 30fps with an unchangeable graphic preset.

It runs and looks absolutely amazing on the M3 Max. At this price it is a steal.

Its kinda sad that release of one AAA remake on Apple ecosystem would make a news. The biggest company in the world that cannot leverage its standing to entice more game developers. Sad.

Yeah I'm pretty disappointed that the iOS versions don't let you change graphics options at all (especially when RE8 let you customise everything). Would love an option for lower res but 60fps...
I heard a theory is that the RE8 on iOS has the issue of the game quitting itself due to not enough RAM, when the user played with a settings too high. Meaning the game may be able to handle that high settings most of the time but whenever it can't, the game quits.

RE4 is an even more action oriented game than RE8, so maybe Capcom thought it is more important to maintain stability than otherwise, especially at its launch state. I imagine weeks or months down the iOS version may get better optimization and will open up some settings. I personally feel the worst is with hair and edge of Leon's model, the blurring is just distractingly jarring. The enemies and environments are instead pretty fine, for a tablet.

The Mac version though is just something else. It looks truly next gen on my M3 Max 16" screen, even just a lantern with its HDR lighting. It feels very weird to see a AAA game running this well on a MacBook.

Is it profitable to cater to iOS and Mac OS users who like to play AAA games? If it were the case, certainly more studios would be making games for them.

runs like absolute **** on iPhone lol. But hey, it runs.
Also so "cross save" is a pain in the ass. You have to manually up and download the safe games and it takes a while. Why not make it automatically??
Cause apple didn't make framework to do that, apple isn't interested in AAA gaming, only "mobile" subscription gaming.
