iPhone SE 4 Production Will Reportedly Begin Ramping Up in October

Following nearly two years of rumors about a fourth-generation iPhone SE, The Information today reported that Apple suppliers are finally planning to begin ramping up mass production of the device in October of this year.

iPhone SE 4 Vertical Camera Feature
If accurate, that timeframe would mean that the next iPhone SE would not be announced alongside the iPhone 16 series in September, as expected. Instead, the report speculates that the device could be released ahead of the Lunar New Year in January 2025. However,
all three existing iPhone SE models were announced in March over the years, so a March 2025 release seems quite possible too.

Rumored features for the fourth-generation iPhone SE include a 6.1-inch OLED display, Face ID, an Action button, and a USB-C port. The device is expected to be similar to the base iPhone 14, although reports said it would have only a single rear camera, and it might share the iPhone 16's rear-panel manufacturing process.

We recently published an iPhone SE 4 rumor recap with all potential features and other details.

I was disappointed that the iPhone SE 1 had the same CPU and the same main camera as the flagship iPhone at the time. I hope my hero Tim Cook does not do that with the iPhone SE 4, and instead gives it an older generation processor and older generation camera. It's more important for Apple to save money and maximize profits than to give customers an excellent user experience. Users like me are not as important (and are less human) than multimillionaire and billionaire Apple executives and Apple shareholders.

If this doesn’t have a fingerprint reader I don’t really see the appeal. elderlies in my family can’t reliably use Face ID and the fingerprint reader is great for them.

I find it strange Apple didn't update the 2 year old iPhone SE 2022, it's very outdated now, and it's the only iPhone left with terrible battery life. Surely they could make one with FaceID, cheaper chassis, cheaper display, etc. for about the sam me price as the SE? Not expecting TouchID like on the iPad Air because people put cases on them.

The current iPhone SE is the Apple Watch Series 3 of the 2021/2022 Apple Watch lineup.

If it has A18 and 8GB for Apple Intelligence, and the 48mp sensor that allows a native-ish centre 12mp 2X crop, I'm not even sure what I'd be missing from the base 16. The ultrawide, but I wouldn't miss it that much. Dynamic Island is a question mark.
