Apple Releases New AirPods Pro 2 Beta Firmware

Apple today released a new beta firmware update for the AirPods Pro 2, with the software available for both the Lightning and USB-C versions of the AirPods Pro. The firmware has a build number of 7B5013c, and as it is a beta, it is only available for developers at the current time.

It is not clear what's included in the firmware update at this time, but Apple is planning to introduce hearing aid and hearing test functionality for the AirPods Pro 2 sometime this year.

While the current firmware is limited to developers right now, it will be released for all AirPods Pro 2 users in the future.

Just fix the random times where they take forever to connect and then disconnect.

It’s getting very irritating.

Most times it’s good. But a call comes in, open them up and pop them in and it doesn’t work, makes the connect sound, disconnect, reconnect.

Seems to be when the case is lower in battery.

Tried repairing and seems to fix for a while and then starts to randomly do it again.

Hopefully this fixes the connection or whatever the issue was.

I would assume if you are enrolled and running iOS developer betas, you will get pushed the APP2 firmware beta?
No, you have to enable Developer Mode on your phone, then enable AirPods beta downloads. If you don’t have the Developer Mode toggle, you’ll need to download XCode to your Mac and then connect your phone to your Mac to enable it.

Might be the new Head Gestures thing, pretty sure. Try disabling that and see if the popping goes away.
Someone else suggested that so I tried. It didn’t. If the popping came at the end of a query I’d understand, but it’s literally at the end of every other word when reading out a text or app notification so I can’t find any pattern to it. Think I’m going to try the unpairing/reset process later today and see if that cures it.

The only difference with the USB-C version are the antennas which support low latency lossless on Vision Pro. Interesting.
