Apple Updates Magic Mouse, Magic Keyboard, and Magic Trackpad With USB-C Ports

Alongside the new iMac, Apple announced updated versions of the Magic Mouse, Magic Keyboard, and Magic Trackpad. The accessories are now equipped with USB-C charging ports, whereas the previous models used Lightning. Apple includes the Magic Mouse and Magic Keyboard in the box with the iMac, and the Magic Trackpad is an optional upgrade.

M4 iMac With Magic Accessories
"Every iMac comes with a color-matched Magic Keyboard and Magic Mouse or optional Magic Trackpad, all of which now feature a USB-C port, so users can charge their favorite devices with a single cable," said Apple, in a press release.

There does not appear to be any other changes to the Magic accessories beyond the switch to USB-C. Yes, that means the Magic Mouse's charging port remains located on the bottom of the mouse, as confirmed in Apple's video for the new iMac.

Some of the Magic accessories with USB-C ports are also sold separately:

Apple also continues to sell the older Magic Keyboard with Numeric Keypad with a Lightning charging port, but it lacks a Touch ID button. All other Lightning-based Magic accessories appear to have been discontinued today.

The updated accessories can be ordered today.

Please tell me they moved the USB-C port on the Magic Mouse.
The charging port on the Magic Keyboard has been moved to the underside to match the Magic Mouse

You're welcome

If you sell a computer with minimalist clean design then the mouse has to match.

If you want a mouse with physical buttons and holes on the side you can go buy one.
The people who complain the most about this charging port are the ones who would never buy it anyway. I understand the complaints about sharp edges or low precision of the MM, but charging once every few weeks, which requires turning the mouse upside down for a few hours, is NOT a problem.
