Apple Seeds Third Beta of macOS Sequoia 15.5

Apple today seeded the third beta of an upcoming macOS Sequoia 15.5 update to developers for testing purposes, with the software coming a week after Apple released the second macOS Sequoia 15.5 beta.

macOS Sequoia Night Feature
Registered developers can opt-in to the macOS Sequoia beta through the Software Update section of the System Settings app. An Apple ID associated with an Apple Developer account is required to get the beta.

macOS Sequoia 15.5 appears to be a minor update so far, and no notable new features were found in the first beta.

Work on new features for macOS Sequoia is winding down, as Apple will soon transition to macOS 16. The next-generation version of macOS is set to be unveiled at WWDC in June.

The fact that Mail.app loses its place in the email list every time you switch mailboxes may lead me to violence. Hopefully this is fixed too.
Ok, I can report that this appears to be fixed in the developer beta and actually behaves better than it has in a long time. THANKS, Apple!

Just imagine: No useless feature, but three bugs less.

It's about time that Apple not only listed new features, but also provided proof of their work. When I download updates from the App Store, it often says “Problem solved with XY”. Apple doesn't do that.
The question is, do they just do nothing or are they still too proud to admit that their software is completely buggy?

That's not surprising. Rarely are featured added this close to WWDC. They're saving the new stuff for iOS 19 at this point.

I hope it actually fixes some of the crippling bugs, like the unacceptable random black screens on my family's iMac, which require a hard reboot to temporarily remedy. Never saw that in any version prior to 15.4.0. And yet, for all of the work apparently not being spent on features for this final meaningful point release, they'll probably just fix a couple of bugs in features that don't even really matter.
