Apple Event Announced for September 9: 'Awe Dropping'

Apple will hold its annual iPhone-centric event on Tuesday, September 9 at the Apple Park campus in Cupertino, California, according to an announcement that went out today. The event will start at 10:00 a.m., with select members of the media invited to attend.

awe dropping event
At the September 2025 iPhone event, Apple will unveil the iPhone 17 lineup, which includes an all-new ultra-thin ‌iPhone 17‌ Air. It will come alongside the standard ‌iPhone 17‌, iPhone 17 Pro, and ‌iPhone 17 Pro‌ Max.

The ‌iPhone 17 Pro‌ models are expected to feature a new, more durable build with an aluminum frame, along with a redesigned bar-shaped rear camera module. All the ‌iPhone 17‌ models will get updated A19 or A19 Pro chips, and ProMotion could be standard across the line.

The ‌iPhone 17‌ Air will be Apple's thinnest and lightest iPhone to date, and it will replace the "Plus" iPhone. It's expected to feature a 6.6-inch display, Apple's C1 modem, and a single-lens rear camera.

Apple will also unveil the Apple Watch Series 11, Apple Watch Ultra 3, and Apple Watch SE 3, marking the first time in three years that all Apple Watch models have been updated at the same time. Other possibilities include AirPods Pro 3 with an updated design, a new HomePod mini, and a refreshed Apple TV 4K.

In addition to new hardware, Apple will provide launch dates for iOS 26, iPadOS 26, macOS Tahoe, and the rest of its upcoming software.

Apple plans to stream the fall event live on its website, on YouTube, and through the ‌Apple TV‌ app. For those unable to watch, MacRumors will be providing full event coverage on MacRumors.com and the MacRumorsLive Twitter account.

My theory:

September 9, 2025 = 9/9/2025

Add all numbers: 9+9+2+0+2+5=27

That day, the moon will be at 95% illumination: 95% of 27 is 25.65

Earth to Moon distance will be 227,014 miles: 227,014 + 25.65 = 227,039.65

Now let's decipher each digit in 227,039:

Tim Cook's favorite number is 7
2+7=9
The ninth letter in the alphabet is i

Greg Woswiak’s favorite number is 14
2+14=16
Sixteenth letter is p

Johny Srouji’s favorite number is 1
7+1=8
Eighth letter is h

Lisa Jackson’s favorite number is 15
0+15=15
Fifteenth letter is o

Katherine Adams’s favorite number is 11
3+11=14
Fourteenth letter is n

Phil Schiller doesn’t have a favorite number, but his least favorite number is 4
9-4=5
Fifth letter is e

Put all letters together, we get iPhone

That day, the moon will enter the 2nd lunar mansion precisely at 8:52am.
Add all numbers together: 2+8+5+2=17

iPhone 17 is confirmed!

Back to in-person events? 👍
Nope. They invite press to watch the pre-recorded video on a screen at Apple, and then go to a hands on area. It's beyond pathetic.

Kinda burying the lead in the article, which is in-person events are back!
Where does it say it will be live? Pack people in, then play a video on the theatre screen.
