Belkin Launches Hybrid Camera Grip and Power Bank

Belkin today announced the launch of the Stage PowerGrip, an accessory that pairs a camera grip with a power bank.

The PowerGrip includes a 9,300 mAh battery that can provide a full charge to Apple's iPhones. Included magnets allow it to attach to the back of a MagSafe-compatible iPhone.

It can charge at 7.5W wirelessly, but plugging an iPhone in with the included retractable USB-C cable speeds up charging. With the wireless charging capabilities, the included cable, and an extra USB-C port, up to three devices can be charged at one time. The charger is limited to 15W total, so it's best used to charge an iPhone and smaller devices like an Apple Watch or AirPods.

The PowerGrip connects to an iPhone over Bluetooth, and a button on it can be used as a camera shutter button for snapping photos. It can be used in multiple orientations for filming, or it can serve as a stand. There's also a connector so it can be attached to a tripod mount. A digital display provides a readout on remaining capacity.

Belkin's Stage PowerGrip can be purchased from the Belkin website or from Amazon.com for $80.

$329 for a grip ... with no additional/better lenses?

Have they lost their mind?

Would love to see it include an internal SSD so that the iPhone could also record ProRes video to it.

Regarding magsafe accessories, Apple should make a version of it's iPhone air magsafe battery but with a dslr camera like the xiaomi modular optical system

Example -

also, it'd be nice if they would make a magsafe detachable version of their upcoming foldable that can snap apart and snap together in one second, when we don't want or need the extra bulk, or when we want the extra screen real estate

I've been waiting for modular iPhones/cameras. Our current camera phones are so bulky as phones yet so limited as cameras (albeit the progress within the limitations has been amazing). I've been quite frustrated by this. I would even be willing to have a dedicated phone AND dedicated camera if they were both as ultra portable as possible and synced somewhat easily. Apple's new iPhone Air helps with half of that equation, but the problem is the ultra portable camera market is desolate. Modularity might be my only hope, but fortunately it's also potentially more ideal. Really glad Xiaomi took this step; I hope it's very successful.

I have an old Sony QX100 camera. Back when I had my iPhone 12 Pro Max, I ordered a MagSafe magnet ring from Amazon, attached it to the camera, and used it a few times. Unfortunately, Sony’s app was pretty poor. Still, in some situations, the QX100 could take better photos than the iPhone. If Sony brought it back with MagSafe support and a much better app, I’m sure many people would buy it.
